Peter Montgomery is a potter from Belfast who makes functional porcelain tableware. His interest lies in ergonomic forms that are beautiful to look at and a pleasure to use. He studied ceramics at the Ulster University in Belfast and has worked in several pottery workshops in England and Australia.

Peter is a graduate of the DCCoI Ceramics Skills and Design Training Course in Thomastown, Ireland. During this time, a growing interest in food fuelled a passion for functional pottery, and he began working with porcelain, throwing tableware alongside the production of individual pieces.

2017 saw a relocation to southwest England, to Kigbeare Studios, where he worked alongside Svend Bayer 3 years.


Peter relocated to Austria in 2020, and established TON with Lena Butschek. TON is a ceramic workshop and teaching facility.
